Fields of Inquiry: Jeanne and Me
Fields of Inquiry: Jeanne and Me is an ongoing photographic and moving-image project inspired in part by the story of Jeanne Barret Dubernat (1740–1807), the French herbswoman believed to be the first woman to circumnavigate the globe.
The fact that she needed to bind her breasts and disguise herself as a man may have been the least extraordinary part of her story.
