Pace Center for Girls
Exhibition: Every Girl Deserves Flowers, December 2022 - March 5, 2023. Exhibition curator and instructor.
For six weeks in the spring of 2022, I had the privilege of working with students of Pace Center for Girls, Volusia-Flagler on a self-portrait project. We studied self-portraits by a variety of contemporary and historical artists such as Frida Kahlo, Deena Lawson, Zanele Muholi, Dana Stirling, Nakeya Brown, David Uzochukwu, and Cindy Sherman.
The work culminated in an exhibition at the Museum of Arts & Sciences, Daytona Beach, Florida. Every Girl Deserves Flowers, ran from December 2022 - March 5, 2023. The title referenced a poem and photograph by one of the students.
