A Dress Yourself
This is an on-going project, part fairy tale, part documentary. To me clothes have the power of transformation. As a child both my mother and sister were gifted seamstresses. I have their eyes if not their gift, so I scour second-hand stores and small boutiques for magical additions to my dress collection. For me a dress can offer a portal beyond the everyday to somewhere new, a place beyond constriction or waistbands.
This is a story of one such dress. Made of sheerness and summer, it's scripted with a flower garden that appears open to interpretation. I carry it with me when I travel. Sometimes I ask people to wear it. Sometimes it's worn by trees. Sometimes me.
Check back often as this tale continues to evolve.
